Get inspired

Learn from the florist: it’s all about playing with color and form. Experiment with different colors and shapes to create different looks in your vase. Tonal colors create a calm and harmonious feel, while contrasting colors add energy and define the shapes more clearly. Using an odd number of flowers, such as 3, 5, or 7, often creates a more balanced arrangement.

To help your flowers last longer, use a clean vase, recut the stems, and change the water every other day. Learn more!

How to start arranging

Start with greenery or branches, such as eucalyptus, ruscus, or other foliage. This creates a foundation that makes it easier to build the arrangement from there.

Place the stems diagonally across one another around the rim of the vase to create an airy and balanced arrangement. Medium-sized and small-flowered cut flowers work beautifully here.

Place larger flowers, such as peonies or sunflowers, in the center or asymmetrically in the vase to create a natural focal point.

Vary the height and shape by using different types of flowers, both small and large.

Feel free to rotate the vase as you work to see the flowers from different angles and create a balanced arrangement.
