Green plants at our store

We love chlorophyll.

At our store at Riddargatan 2 and in selected H&M Home shop-in-shops, you’ll find a selection of green houseplants in a variety of sizes. Our selection varies with the season, and we often offer popular favourites such as Monstera, Aralia and different varieties of Ficus.

All houseplants have different needs when it comes to water, light and humidity. A simple rule of thumb is to look at the leaves – plants with thick leaves generally need less water than plants with thin leaves.

You can absolutely have different plants throughout your home, but adjust their placement and watering to suit each plant’s needs, and place them where they will thrive best.

General tips for most plants:

Let the soil dry out slightly between waterings. The roots need both water and air.
Place your plants in natural daylight, but keep in mind that most plants don’t thrive in strong, direct sunlight.

SMALL-LEAVED PLANTS

Care tips: Water regularly, keeping the soil slightly moist but not soggy. Plants with thin leaves quickly show signs of insufficient water or humidity, so mist the leaves regularly, especially in winter. They are sensitive to drafts, and direct sunlight should be avoided as it can scorch the leaves.

Care tips:Thick leaves store water, so avoid getting the leaves wet. Let the soil dry out thoroughly between waterings and use well-draining soil. These plants thrive in bright light but can usually tolerate partial shade. They are also more drought-tolerant.
